Oh, Christ – I can’t help myself: NaNo WriMo 2007

I did it again.
I signed up for the National Novel Writer’s Month (NaNoWriMo), even though this November will be busier and more hectic than most. I’ll be out of town on a s00per sekrit mission that I’ve been sworn to secrecy about (*stage wink in no particular direction*), plus my new job will be getting the Holiday/Christmas goodies in, and then there’s usual family lunacy at the end of the month.
Chances are I’ll do what I did last year and use the meetups as a chance for some concentrated writing on either Isle of Shadows or The Cat Dragged Inn. Never has been kicking up some dust too, so maybe November will be productive after all.
If there’s one thing I miss about my old job (aside from the money) it’s the concentrated time I had to work on my blog and my website. I don’t get to post as much anymore because I’m spending a lot of time researching and catching up on things I’d like to write about because I lack a stable internet connection at home. There are so many great stories in the news lately, I may have to reopen the Diner. I actually miss that place as well as the persona. We’ll see what the next few weeks bring.
I look over what I’ve written for the Cat Dragged Inn, and I want to be that writer again. I love the way it’s written and the easy flow of the words over the screen. I need to be that writer again, to recapture the voice of that novel and finish it, because it wants to be told completely. It wants to be told in that voice.
Someone give me a deadline.
