This Will Make A Lovely Coat For My Sister-Wife

I think dressing up as a skunk is adorable. I think shooting skunks (for fun or pest control) is deplorable. I think shooting a little girl dressed as a skunk is worthy of the chair.

I was going to write-up a huge PSA about alcohol and stupidity mixing with wee children wearing costumes this Halloween season, but this “male relative” claimed he was a sober and it only leads me to believe drugs were involved or very poor eyesight, or possibly the phrase “watch what I can do.”

(Freedom, PA) Police say a costumed 9-year-old girl was accidentally shot outside a home during a Halloween party by a relative who thought she was a skunk.

The girl was over a hillside and wearing a black costume and a black hat with a white tassel. Chief Ronald Leindecker of the New Sewickley Township police says a male relative mistook her for a skunk and fired a shotgun, hitting her in the shoulder Saturday night.

So a few questions: was the man shooting at a skunk because it wronged his family? Was he concerned for the overall atmosphere of his party? At any time while he was sighting the “skunk” did it occur to him that maybe it was a little large for a skunk or was his intention to get into Weekly World News? Did he think it would make a nice addition to the “exotic” fur coat he was making for his  wife (sister? sister-wife?)?

*gasp* – was he trying to court her?

"I don't always shoot potential mates ..." Ugh, I can't go there ...

The article leaves many unanswered questions, and as the Internet is nothing but “news” copypastaed from the original source (*coff*), we may never know the real reason.

That may be for the best.

Just this fox. I'm a writer of horror and dark fantasy. I totally don't brag about it. The latter statement is an utter lie.
