Kristin’s Post

I can do this because it’s my blog. I’m a firm believer in stating one’s opinion and having *something* to back it up. Really. When I’m mistaken, please, point it out to me so I can learn from my mistakes. It’s how we grow. However I cannot abide someone coming to a blog - late - and stating an opinion for no other reason that to see the pretty words on a screen.

Save that crap for LiveJournal or MySpace. This is the Diner. The rules are a little different. Here, when you post an asinine comment you can expect to be called out on it. Really. I take perverse pleasure in it.

So on December 1, 2005, I made a post about Suzanne Wangler, a former local celebrity who got knicked for shoplifting some $600 dollars of sundries and groceries from Westborn Market. At the time it seemed she was going to try to fight it, because that’s what people with money tend to do - they fight stuff instead of owning up to it.

That post of course led to a flurry of comments- okay 3 - complaining about my verbal treatment of Ms. Wangler, coming to her defense, verily pleading that I remove that trash from my site. We all know that isn’t going to happen, yet it’s cute when they ask. It never hurts and it’s always funny. Back and forth for a few days, and then it becomes old news. I mean, it’s not like she ran over someone in the parking lot. Unfortunately.

Time marches on.

Here we are over a month later, and someone going a little ego-surfing has to put in their two cents. Cute. She even comes back for seconds because her first comment apparently didn’t have enough teeth behind it. Nothing is edited for spelling or content because they are priceless just as they are.

Kristin sez:

Excuse me, do you realize she does have kids, and you are destorying them publically. You all need to get lives. John is married to a Puerto Rican women and the family is very happy. Because Mrs. Wangler a very nice person made one mistake doesnt mean you need to exploit the whole family on the internet.Just because your husband delivers newspapers doesnt give you the right to ruin and stick your nose in what isnt your buisness.

I lurve it when people feel the need to offer the enthic background of others’ spouses because it makes them look so damn cosmopolitian. John married a Puerto Rican woman, so Suzanne can’t be a klepto - it all makes sense now. *rolls eyes* Yes, Kristin, I do know they have kids. Was she aware she had kids when she attempted to steal something that didn’t belong to her? What Kristin also fails to understand is that I’m not sticking my nose into something that wasn’t made my business. I didn’t travel the gossip circle and dig up dirt. This was a national story, on both our local wire and MSNBC. It was news. You want to stay anonymous, stay off the news. (By the by - it’s been over a decade that my husband delivered papers, nut I can see how you might have missed that.)

Then she came back a few minutes later, still amazingly full of herself:

OH look whos all high and mighty bc they have a stupid website online where she likes to destroy other people. Posting whitty resposes to people that know and love the Wanglers. Notice how no one has tried to defend what she did but ask for a little compassion toward the children who will never go through a day without thinking about how their mommy went to jail. So while you sit there and destroy the whole family when its “your job I truly hope its satisfying, because tomorrow when I see their kids which I will, I’ll remember your snappy little “mummy and daddy effed up.

best of luck with karma

So you actually read the comments? Good for you, sweetie. Now let’s work on a little comprehension, shall we? We’d work on your spelling, but I don’t have all day.

1 - it’s hard to defend someone who’s clearly in the wrong. They wanted compassion - for what? Notice how people want compassion for the very same people who find it difficult to show it in the first place? What compassion was there for someone trying to walk out with another’s property?

2 - I see we’re back to the children angle. I’ve said my piece on it. So has he, and he did it better. We’re moving on.

3 - The part where you say you’ll be sure to show the “kids” this - classic. See, until now they probably hadn’t even heard of this post, but for some reason, Kristin feels the need to rub their nose in it further. “Look what I found - see - see! Does this make me popular now?” How’d you find this anyway - because unless you were searching for Ms Wangler or Westborn Mkt, you don’t exactly stumble across it. And it was over a month ago, so you would have had to actually dig for it. Looking for more gossip? You’re late - it’s old news. Oh yeah, and the kids - not so young.

4 - The Karma as you understand it is wrong, but I would fully expect someone as superficial as yourself to not wholly grasp the Eastern concept of Karma. I’d explain it to you, but there’s a saying abut arguing with an idiot, and I want to make sure people don’t mistake me for that. Besides, why steal your glory.

5 - It is my website. And yours is … ?

Finally, dear girl, as much ego-surfing as you did, you neglected to read the follow up post
, where I actually thanked her for owning up to her responsibility and committing what’s sure to be social suicide by accepting her punishment and not dragging it out in court. Oh - you missed it, you say? You were feeling so righteous and uppity you neglected to search for a follow up? It slipped your mind? *gasp* *shock*

Sure, I’m high and mighty (us high-yella’d Coloreds tend to be on occasion), but I can also do the right thing.

You should too - now, tuck your tail between your legs, crawl back under your rock and try not to embarrass yourself further. I know, it’ll be hard with your masturbatory need to shoot off your mouth to get noticed, but you can do it. I believe in you.

Shoo, little one. We’ve wasted enough time on this.

Insanity in a nutshell

If you are offended by jokes made about stupid people who end up dead, count to 30 and move on. You being offended is the last thing I care about. Really.
